History of India.. are we really in a democratic country...

I just had a thought....
are we in a democratic country...
we are still being ruled by a "Royal Family The Gandhi's"
In the old times a king used to rule a kingdom he would be indulging in many battles and if he use to loose a battle the victorious king used to take over the kingdom. Either the defeated king or his son/well wishers avenge the defeat  and get back to power. Well that's what is happening at the center. The Gandhi's being the rulers(congress party) and the other governments which had come into power being the tiny kings who managed to get power but ultimately loose against the mighty Gandhi's.
Well History repeats itself. Britishers ruled India with just one Golden rule, "Divide and rule".
its a new world, the rule is the same but whom to divide and whom to unite and whom to rule changes dynamically.
They talk about "Aam admi" but the amount of money spent on the Gandhi's can easily make few villages prosper. Will this royalty ever end. will we be able to see the dreams that Netaji, Bhagat singh had thought of India. Can India be the golden bird again.
well its true that all the dynasties had a golden period, i hope the Gandhis have their golden period under Rahul rule.
Jai Ho

i think...the question here is not about the existence of royalty or the lack of it....
Every nation has their own royalty..England, America.. u name it... there is someone who has these privileges!

The second question here is... if Netaji and Bhagat Singh's dreams would ever come true.. and if there wuld be a government which would fulfill it....

But.... y should it be Netaji's dreams or Bhagat singhs dreams we are fighting for.. shudnt it be our dream... for an India we would want to leave for our children....An india we would love to live in?

and if we have a dream..isnt it our responsibility to fight for it?in our own way... if nothing else..then by just voting...

I believe that if we as citizens fail to vote... fail to fight for our right to excersise this franchise... then we loose the right to complain...either against the system or the government!!!

'Every vote counts!'

A very good comment by Virrajita.

Current & Future India is our reality & dream.
In order to see the change, be the change - MK Gandhi.

The loyalty to dynasty doesn't count. But how they rule really matters the most.
It is far better to have a dynasty with good politics than having people like Mayavathi, who are not ashamed to put their own statues to be worshipped.
People at the helm need to considerate for the needs of the people and serve accordingly, rather than filling their coffers and stashing the money in Swiss banks.

If you ask any Indian who has travelled abroad, he knows the shallowness of "Mera Bharat Mahan" slogan. (I am only speaking of current state of India, not the past or future).
